John R. Rote currently serves as the Vice President, Office of the Chairman, for SC Johnson, a Family Company which makes consumer goods products like Windex, Glade Air Fresheners, Pledge, and more! John has been with SC Johnson since 1995 and has held different positions running most of the company's key category business units. He received his undergraduate degree from Penn State University and a Masters in Business degree from the Krannert Graduate School of Management, Purdue University.

John also serves on the Korean Johnson Board of Directors, he is the Chairman for the Education, Community, and Youth Division of the SC Johnson Fund, Board member of the Racine County Workforce Development Task Force, Vice President and Head of Personnel for Racine Christian School, and is a youth basketball coach.

John joined the David C. Cook Board in 2006 and is currently the Chairman of the Board.

Cris Doornbos is the President and CEO of David C. Cook. He assumed responsibilities on September 6, 2005. Before joining Cook, Mr. Doornbos invested 22 years of his career with Zondervan Christian Communications Company serving as an Executive Vice President for the past 10 years.

Mr. Doornbos holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a major in Leadership and Organizational Development from Calvin College. Mr. Doornbos and his wife, Trudy, have two children; their daughter recently graduated from his alma mater and their son plans to attend the Colorado Mountain College. He is an avid reader, enjoys movies, is a certified scuba diver and a serious slalom water skier.

Cris joined the David C. Cook Board in 2005.

Dr. David Baer is currently president of Overseas Council (OC). OC partners with more than 100 seminaries and Bible colleges in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East in order to facilitate the formation of Christian leaders in those regions. Before joining Overseas Council, Dr. Baer served as president of OC partner ESEPA Seminary in San José, Costa Rica. He has been a lecturer and tutor in biblical Hebrew and Old Testament at the University of Cambridge.

Dr. Baer earned the Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Wheaton College, the Master of Divinityfrom Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and holds a PhD in Old Testament from the University of Cambridge.

David joined the David C. Cook Board in 2007 and currently serves as chairman of the Governance Committee.

Edric Green (Ric) started, built and sold a multi-state, $150+ million distribution business through internal growth, acquisitions and strategic partnering. Additionally, he built a water management business, which uses computers and high-tech communication technology to control and manage large public institutional water use. He is experienced in and has done consulting in the areas of strategic planning, partnering, turn-a-rounds, board creation, operations management and growth through acquisitions.

Ric is a founding member of BBL Forum, an organization dedicated to helping Christian CEOs and business owners grow profitably and integrate scriptural principles into their businesses and has served on multiple church elder, deacon and trustee Boards. Ric graduated from California Polytechnic State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, and later earned an MBA from the University of Southern California, with an emphasis in marketing and finance.

Ric joined the David C. Cook Board in 2007 and currently serves as chair for the Ministry Advancement committee.

David Howard is the retired President of Latin America Missions. Prior to retiring, David held positions as the Special Assistant to the President of David C. Cook, International Director for World Evangelical Fellowship and Director for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Dr. Howard received his B.A. and M.A. in Theology from Wheaton College and has honorary doctorate degrees from Geneva College and Taylor University. In addition to serving on the Cook Board, he currently serves on the Boards for Tyndale House Foundation and Latin America Mission. David spent many years serving as a missionary in Colombia. He has also written numerous articles in magazines and mission journals and has written ten books.

David joined the David C. Cook Board 1998 and currently serves on the Ministry Advancement Committee

Jeanette Hsieh is Executive Vice President/Provost and Professor of Education at Trinity International University.

Prior to assuming her present role at Trinity, she has held the positions of Academic Dean of the college and graduate school and Senior Vice President of academic affairs, Chair of the Education Department at Wheaton College, Director of Teacher Education at Judson College, and has taught in the Illinois school districts of Deerfield and Elgin.

Jeanette earned her Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Supervision from Northern Illinois University, the Master of Arts in Christian Education from Wheaton College and the Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Westmont College. She has contributed to numerous papers and publications on education. Jeanette and her husband, Theodore, live in Elgin and have two children.

Jeanette joined the David C. Cook Board in June of 2009 and serves on the Ministry Advancement Committee.

Dennis Johnson (Denny) is Chief Executive Officer of The JohnsonGroup headquartered in Rockford, IL. The JohnsonGroup is a group of privately held award-winning commercial print companies with locations within the US and China. In addition to his executive responsibilities, Denny is active on several Boards within his community including Founder and Chairman of the Board of Kids Around the World, Past Chairman of the Board of Swedish American Health System, Board member of Bank One and Rockford College. He attended Bethel College in St. Paul, MN and J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Evanston, IL. Denny and his wife, Evie, have three children and eight grandchildren, all living in Rockford, IL.

Denny joined the David C. Cook Board in 2007 and currently serves at the Board Treasurer and chairman for the Finance and Investment Committee.

Joseph Koch is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Fellowes Inc., a world-wide office supply company, where he has worked for 10 years. In his current position, Mr. Koch is responsible for Fellowes' global systems, human resources, and all financial functions world-wide including strategic acquisitions in Italy, Poland, France, Korea, Spain and China. He holds a magna cum laude B.S. degree in Economics from Miami University and Masters in Management from Northwestern University. Mr. Koch has supported the ministry of Cook for many years as he feels a passionate calling to discipleship and holds a strong conviction that God has blessed the ministry of Cook for over 130 years. Mr. Koch has also been active in Boy Scouts of America as a former Eagle Scout, Troop leader and Director of his local council.

Joe has served on the David C. Cook Board since 1997 and is currently the Vice Chairman of the Board.

David is currently a Research Associate, Mixed Emerging Technology Integration Lab at the Institute for Simulation & Training. David is an extremely well traveled and talented individual having attended John Hopkins' Center for Talented Youth. During high school, David won national level speech and debate competitions, became an Eagle Scout, and earned the highest SAT scores in the history of the boarding school. He is a graduate of the Air Force Academy.

After managing the Aid & Development program in Southern Sudan, David returned to the US to pursue an advanced degree studying philosophy and anthropology and is now on track to finish his Ph.D. in December 2009 and his M.A. in Christian Thought in August 2009.

David joined the Cook Board in 2009 as a Trustee.

Dr. Doug Shaw leads International Students Inc. as President/CEO. Dr. Shaw earned both an MA and a Ph.D. at California Graduate School of Theology in Glendale, CA. His continuing education includes an emphasis in evangelism and church growth as well as missions. For seven years, he was President of a family corporation that owned three small businesses. He has served several churches in California in either interim/consultative roles or as senior pastor, having been ordained since 1974. he has been a consultant, producer and guest in various media endeavors, including television, radio and multi-media. He is the author of many articles and more than a dozen books and training manuals.

In addition, Doug has served several para-church ministries, including Living Bibles International, Christ for All Nations, the Joshua Project/Mission America, and Every Home for Christ. He is married to Susan, and they have three children, Cilicia, Kassania, and Rajeev.

Doug joined the Cook Board in 2009 as a Trustee.

Barry Swenson is currently the Executive Vice President of Wings Associates, LLC, a company which provides management and operational services, in Chicago. He received both a Bachelor's of Business degree and Master of Accountancy degree from Western Illinois University. Barry has served many years on Cook's Board because he "believes in the mission of the organization." Mr. Swenson also served 7 years on the Scripture Press Ministries Board and was the Interim President of Scripture Press Ministries until its merger with Cook. Before working at Wing's and Associates, Mr. Swenson served 15 years as the Vice President for Administration at The Art Institute of Chicago. He has also served as Chairman of the Board for the Baptist General Conference Foundation.

Barry has served on the David C. Cook Board since 1997 and is currently the Audit and Compliance committee chair.
