Noted as one of the most talented musical artist/songwriters, she had hit a roadblock. She was exhausted emotionally and physically, and she had eight more months of concerts ahead of her. Sara kept going. She went on stage and she did her best to honor the Lord with her music. Eventually a song came out of that experienced titled The Boxer comparing the Christian life to a boxing match. Sara found strength in the lyrics of The Boxer. She describes a moment when she says she was bobbing and weaving through life just like a boxing match but still getting beat up. She mentally went to a corner of the ring and started to remember who she was. She was not Sara Groves the singer nor was she Sara Groves the talented girl at college. She remembered she was Sara who God loved and in whom God lived.

Click here to download the lesson » High School Resource Links: - On August 19, 1999, a veteran photojournalist, Mr. Clancy, was hired by USA Today to photograph a surgery. The operation was for a child with spina bifida and this specialized surgical procedure was going to be performed on a twenty-one week old unborn baby. The baby, in his mother's womb, was operated on through a small incision. During the surgery, the baby's entire arm thrust out of the incision and then pulled back until just his little hand showed. As the doctor reached over and lifted the baby's hand, the baby squeezed the doctor's finger. Just then, a photograph was taken. This picture later would be seen by millions, referred to by the media as "the hand of a fetus that touched the world." Mr. Clancy calls the photo "the hand of hope"-having no idea that it would change his life forever. The photo and story related to this event can be seen at this website.
