Vacation Bible School (VBS): Cook Communications Vacation Bible School (VBS) programs provide fun and engaging ways to reach your students during the Summer months or any time of the year.

VBS Mission Projects

Mission programs are a cornerstone of Cook's VBS programs. Each year, hundreds of churches contribute, sending the Word of Jesus around the world to children and adults who have never heard the Good News before. Hundreds of thousands of people receive a Bible of their very own thanks to these programs, conducted through Cook Communications Ministries International and funded by contributions from churches just like yours!

The downloadable document below contains the stories of some of the children helped by the VBS mission programs. These stories are great for sharing with your volunteers, staff, children and parents to get them excited about the life-changing difference their contributions will make around the world!

2006: Time-Stone Travelers VBS—Project Timeless Truth

Share God's eternal love with the children of Latin America

With the Time-Stone Travelers: Quest for God's 10 Commandments, kids will zoom back in history to Mayan jungles and medieval castles. On their way they will learn about obedience to God's Word and His commandments. But do they realize that children in Latin America in 2006 don't know Jesus and can't read about God's timeless truth? They have no Bibles.

The Message Is Eternal, the Need Is Now
Time-Stone Travelers tell children who lived long ago about Jesus. Your VeBS kids can share Jesus with children who live in Latin America today by giving them the New Testament Picture Bible in Spanish. The grinding poverty these children face in Latin America is much worse than we can imagine. The average family earns about $10 to $50 per month. For as little as $5, your VeBS kids can give four children a New Testament Picture Bible.

Cook Communications Ministries International (CCMI) has mission projects around the globe, so your VeBS kids can choose the children they want to bless&mdashIraq to India, China to Myanmar. Just by giving their nickels and dimes, children in remote Cuban villages will have Spanish Bibles to learn of God's love. Bible club teachers in India's slums can give children Bibles in their language to take home. Many are from Muslim families. Children in Iraq or China can find out about God in Arabic or Chinese.

CCMI will print, bind, and distribute these colorfully illustrated Bibles. Many of these children generously share the Good News they read about with family and friends. In Cuba, where over 250,000 have already been distributed, it is often the little ones who bring unsaved friends to church. CCMI has countless stories of fathers and mothers, grandparents and uncles coming to salvation because of the children.

2005: Project Share God's Treasure

"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
Matthew 6:21

Project Share God's Treasure lets VeBS children meaningfully spread the Good News by giving of their treasure—their nickels and dimes—and the knowledge that the Bible leads to Jesus.

Cook Communications Ministries International (CCMI) has mission projects around the globe. In Project Share God's Treasure, CCMI and kids in VEBS programs nationwide, can give the Bible to children who are without the hope of Jesus. CCMI will print, bind, and distribute colorfully illustrated Bibles that have evangelized children all over the world. For as little as $5, four children who are eager to find Jesus will have their own New Testament Picture Bible. For many, it will be the first book they've ever had.

2004: Project Champion

Project Champion gives your VBS kids the unique opportunity to bring the Gospel to children who don't have the things many Americans take for granted. Some of these children have no homes, some have no parents, and most have no Bibles. Contributions to Project Champion will provide New Testament Picture Bibles to these children by covering the costs of printing, binding, shipping and distributing the Bibles. With the gift of the Gospel, street kids can become Kingdom kids.

It only costs $1.25 to put a Bible into a child's hands--that's about the cost of a candy bar or a soda. For $5--the cost of a "Meal Deal"--you can give a Bible to four children. Every penny given to Project Champion will go towards supplying Bibles to these needy children, with countries receiving aid including Cuba, India, Vietnam, and other parts of Asia.

2003: Asian Exploration

Asian Exploration is the missions project associated with Cook's 2003 VBS, The Jesus Expedition. Through the help of over 250 churches enough funds were raised to provide over 50,000 children with a New Testament Picture Bible or Children's Discovery Bible in Asian countries like China, India, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Each and every nickel, dime and quarter that was given by kids across the United States helped place Bibles in the hands of over 50,000 kids in Asian countries. Kids giving to kids.

The message Asian Exploration expressed to VBS students is that "the change in your pocket can really change a child's life for eternity." There are children who received the New Testament Picture Bible like Gousa Baeguar (pictured at right with her Picture Bible) who lives in Hyderabad, India, one of the largest slums in the world. She is from a Muslim family. Like other children there, her parents have mixed reactions to her attendance at a Christian Children's Club. Gousa's father fears that other Muslims could persecute him if his children maintain their Christian faith. Gousa has already learned about being like Jesus. Pointing to a picture of Jesus in the New Testament Picture Bible, she says, "Please pray for my father. Someday Jesus will also help him."

Children like Gousa Baeguar do not have the money to buy a Bible of their very own but with the help of children and churches who helped support the Asian Exploration project, children living in slums and small villages who are physically poor have become spiritually rich through Jesus Christ.

2002: Project Amazon

Project Amazon, the missions program associated with VeBS 2002 Cruisin' The Amazing Amazon, A Jungle Journey to Discover Jesus, has raised enough funds to provide over 150,000 New Testament Picture Bibles to children in the Amazon Basin.

Over 600 churches sent in donations to help with Project Amazon!

And regardless of how large or small they were, each and every donation to Project Amazon made a difference in a child's life. $1.25 is all it costs to print, ship, and distribute a New Testament Picture Bible to a child in the Amazon region. Just think, the change in a pocket can change a child's spiritual destiny.

There are over 33,000 villages in the Amazon region and the average annual income is only $287. Sadly, many of these villages have never heard of the Hope that is found in Jesus, but the efforts of all the churches that supported Project Amazon gave the physically poor the opportunity to be spiritually rich!

2001: Mission Courageous Project Update

Mission Courageous: Stepping into India was sponsored by VeBS™ 2001 Courageous KidsStepping Out for Jesus!

Kids who took part in Courageous Kids™ raised $66,000 for the Mission Courageous project! These donations came from 284 participating churches. That's outstanding!

This money allowed for over 132,000 children in India to receive Bibles of their very own. In December 2001, thanks to the support of VBS churches, Cook Communications Ministries International was able to give 200,000 Bibles to children in India who are attending VBS programs or Bible Clubs. Without the support of from the Mission Courageous program, these children may never have heard of Jesus and His love.

This has been a heart-warming example of children helping children.
