While Cruisin' the Amazing Amazon VBS is no longer available for purchase you will find all the downloadable resources to support the program below.

Cruisin' the Amazing Amazon offers a variety of downloadable materials to help you make your VBS a success. Simply click on the title of the resource you need below to start the download.
(You'll need to have Adobe's FREE Acrobat Reader installed to view and print the files.)

*These resources have blanks which can be filled in electronically (with Adobe Acrobat 5). Once the file opens in Acrobat, simply click in the areas where you want to enter text, type it in, then print. Alternatively, you can print out the resources and fill in the blanks by hand.

Download Clip Art Images

Note: These are the same pictures as on the CD which is included with your VBS kit. However, the images offered here are downsized and should take less time to print than the images on the CD. If you have had difficulties with the images on the CD, try these. For your convenience there are also some tips for using the clip art below.

Instructions for Downloading Files: For most browsers, simply click on the image and follow the dialog box instructions to save the image to your computer.

Internet Explorer 5.0 users will need to right click on the image (Windows) or click and hold (Macintosh) and select "save target as" (Windows) or "download link to disk" (Macintosh).

Using CD Clip Art

Here are some instructions and tips for using the graphics included on the CD to customize your posters, bulletin inserts and certificates. The easiest way to insert your text into the poster, bulletin insert or certificate is by doing the following:

• 1. Open up a blank Microsoft Word Document. (For other software, consult directions for adding a jpeg file and a text box to your word processor or other software)
• 2. Click INSERT at the top of your screen.
• 3. Click FROM FILE.
• 4. Select drive that operates your CD.
• 5. Choose picture desired.
• 6. Click INSERT.
• 7. Size object to fit page. (Mouse click on a handle-located on corner or edge- and drag to correct size)
• 8. Draw a text box in the area where you want to add text. For Microsoft Word products, this is done by highlighting the "text" icon in the tray at the bottom of your screen. (This icon has an uppercase "A" on it with a bunch of lines-as you would see on a page)
• 9. Type in the desired text. Experiment with font type, size and color to see what looks best.
• 10. If needed, get rid of the line that Microsoft Word automatically puts around the text box by choosing the small down arrow to the right of the "Line Color" icon in the tray at the bottom of your screen (located next to an uppercase "A" with one line underneath it). Choose "No Line."
• 11. If needed, make text box "fill" transparent so as to see through the text box to the graphic on the poster, bulletin or certificate. To do this, choose the down arrow to the right of the "Fill Color" icon in the tray at the bottom of your screen (located next to the "Line Color" icon. Then select No Fill.
