In a desire to partner with churches in helping children deal with the stress and anxiety of war, Cook Communications Ministries has created a free downloadable lesson called "God's Peace, My Peace". This eight-page lesson was developed for use by children in the second through the fifth grades. It can also be used inter-generationally with adults participating alongside children. "This lesson offers the hope that despite the menacing prospects, our hearts can remain at peace," said Lois Keffer, program developer. "We can't think of a better ministry to give to our children than the words of comfort Jesus spoke in John 14:27, "Peace I leave you, I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." Incorporated with this lesson are several activity stations including discussing the scary things happening in our world, leading the kids on a prayer walk and crafts activities including a cut out dove that reminds the children that
"he will cover you with his feathers and under his wings" (Psalm 91:4). To download the lesson, simply click on the God's Peace, My Peace link below. (You will need the free software Adobe Acrobat Reader--available from the link below, if you do not already have it--to view and print the document.)
